Collision off Taichung

The "Marcliff", enroute from Taichung, was in collision with the Taiwanese f/v "Hsin Yi Fu 36" off Taichung on Aug 21, 2019, which capsized. Its crew of six fell into the water and was rescued by the Coastguard. All were taken to Taichung, where an ambulance transported them to the Taichung Metro Harbor Hospital. One injured crew member was in a critical medical condition. The container ship only suffered superficial damage to its hull and arrived at its destination Kaohsiung on Aug 22.

Triple collision off Yokohama

A triple collision between container ships occurred at the anchorage of Yokohama off the Nonmoku Terminal on March 21, 2019, at 11.30 p.m. The "Marcliff" has just left the Nonmoku Terminal bound for Nagoya, and initially collided with the US-flagged container m/v "APL Guam" which was damaged at the bow. After the dhips separated, the "Marcliff" allided with the moored "Hansa Steinburg" which suffered damage to the port side bow above the waterline. On March 22 all involved vessels were moored on Yokohama anchorage, no spill was reported. The Coast Guard has started an immediate investigation. Report with video: https://www.maritime.bg/58985-2/
