Trawler disabled in Elbe estuary

On Dec 31, 2017, the "Maria - Cux 17“ suffered engine damage ni the Elbe estuary near the Great Vogelsand sandbank. The police boat "Bürgermeister Brauer“ which was by chance nearby went on stand-by near the disabled vessel until the lifeboat "Anneliese Kramer" had arrived from the DGzRS station Cuxhaven and took it alongside. The crew of the CG vessel "Bad Bramstedt" on Feb 26, 2011, stopped the "Maria Guard" which is actually servincg as guard ship for cable laying off the East Frisian wadden coast and found out, that the Dutch crew of 2 In a recent review in the past week it emerged that the two Dutch crew members were unable tp present neither the required German patents nor a alid certificate of occupation. The trade association ordered the ship to Emden port due to these violations, and prohibited at the same time continuing the journey. Already back in January, the Federal police determined that the required documents or certificates could possibly inadequate during a check of the "Maria Guard".
