Grounded barge blocking the Main at Dorfprozelten
On Feb 1, 2013, the "Marienberg" ran aground on the Main in Dorfprozelten after ist departure at 3.30 p.m. The ship got caught by currents, drifted perpendicular and got stuck with bow and stern on both river sides. The tug "Von Pechmann" from Abz Hassoch was called to refloat the ship in the afternoon. The tanker "Bayernland" which was running river upstream, coming from Schweinfurt, and the "Concordia" joined the salvage efforts. Due to the high water Level with 1,6 metres above normal the works had to be interrupted at dawn. On Feb 2 two ships refloated the casualty after dredgers had removed mud from the bow.
