Unexpected stop in the Suez Canal

The 'Minerva Nike', which was was ballasting in a 22-ships Northbound convoy on the Suez Canal on April 6, 2021, unexpectedly had to stop near kilometer mark 130 at 08:05 a.m. (UTC), when the ship in front, the tanker 'Rumford', seemed to have suffered a power failure. The 'Minerva Nike' dropped anchor and safely came to rest without incident. She was delayed for around three hours and then could resume her northbound transit of the canal. No grounding, no damage, no injury etc. occurred. The vessel remained afloat at all times and did not block the waterway. It was bound to Sidi Kerir with an ETA as of April 8.

Collision off Kalundborg

Having arrived from Ust-Luga off Kalundborg, the "Minerva Nike" was in collision with the tug "Svitzer Trym" in connection with a ship-to-ship operation off Kalundborg on Feb 25, 2016, short past noon. Three tugs had started to tow the "Minerva Mike" to a berth next to another tanker, the "Ridgebury Lindy B", in connection with a transfr of fuel in the Kalundborg Fjord. During this manoever the "Svitzer Trym" suffered a blackout and subsequently collided with the "Minerva Nike". Both ships suffered minor damage in the collision. The "Minerva Nike" dropped anchor, while the tug returned to Kalundborg and was detained by the Danish Maritime Authority. The "Ridgebury Lindy B" left overnight to a position off the Kalundborg Fjord before heading towards Skagen, bound for the United States. The "Minerva Nike" was released by the authorities in the morning of Feb 26.
