Vessel diverted due to engine issues

The 'MSC Ariane' had to stop at sea due to an engine issue on April 2, 2021, while en route from Xiamen to Los Angeles, USA. The vessel has been diverted to Yokohama for repairs. She was expected to berth in Los Angeles on April 24. Due to the congestion in the Los Angeles area, a schedule adjustment to the original berthing plan was expected. On April 17 the vessel berthed at the Mitsubishi Honmuko Futo Container Terminal T1,T2 in Yokohama.

Container ship troubled due to bad fuel

THe 'MSC Ariane', which was deployed on the MSC's Pearl service, had to stop amidst the Philippine Sea on April 2, 2021, due to an engine issue related to bad quality of fuel and stopped in pos. 31 15 36 N, 136 23 12 E. The ship was en route from Xiamen to Los Angeles, and has since been diverted to Wakayama for repairs. A tug with spare parts was sent to the vessel and was now towing it towards Wakayama. On April 8, 2021, it was assisted by the tugs 'Kongo' and 'Masuei Maru No. 41'. The vessel was initially expected to berth in Los Angeles on April 24, however the schedule was now expected to be adjusted due to repairs and congestion at the San Pedro Bay Port Complex.
