Three ships damaged in allision

On Apr 24, 2017, at 9.30 p.m. the "Muflon 8", 28,1 ts, and its barge were in allision with two ships in the Europe Canal in Regensburg. The tug was underway with a barge, loaded with 800 tons wood sailing downstream on the Danube. Short before entering the lock all systems on board failed due to a technical malfunction. The attempt to stop the ship by dropping bow - and stern anchor was no success because they did not get grip in the asphalt of the lock bottom. The ship hit the northern quay wall, slid further and slammed into two moored vessels of the river authority, among them the inspection vessel "Ohe" (MMSI:211660490) and the "Ilz" (MMSI: 211660150) which both had no crew on board. The two ships suffered significant damage. However, the ""Inn" continued the voyage on Apr 24 bound to Passau. The Slowakian vessels were surveyed during the night and detained by the relevant authorities.
