Engine damage in Kyllini
In the morning of Feb 22, 2024, the Port Authority of Kyllini was informed by the Master of the 'Kefalonia' about a damage to the starboard side main engine. The ferry was scheduled to set sail for Poros Kefallinia, with 63 passengers on board. The Kyllini Port Authority has banned the ship from sailing until a certificate of class maintenance has been presented by the classifier monitoring it, while the passengers were forwarded to their destination by the ship's owning company.
Ferry could not raise its anchor
The Port Authority of Kyllini was informed in the afternoon of Nov 24, 2023, by the Master of the 'Kefalonia', that the port side anchor could not be raised. The ship was scheduled for the port of Poros in Kefallinia with 188 passengers on board. The Kyllini Port Authority prohibited the sailing of the ship until the presentation of a certificate of class maintenance by the monitoring classification society. Th passengers and the vehicles were forwarded to their destination with the ferry 'Andreas Kalvos'.
Engine damage off Kyllini
The Kyllini Port Authority was informed on Sep 27, 2023, at 10 a.m. UTC by the Master of the 'Kefalonia', about a mechanical damage of the port side main engine during its scheduled route from the port of Kyllini to the port of Poros with 151 passengers on board in pos. 37 58 21 N, 021 06 58 E. The vessel returned under its own power to the port of Kyllini, where it safely disembarked the passengers, who were forwarded to their destination by another vessel. The Kyllini Port Authority prohibited the sailing of 'Kefalonia' until the damage was repaired and a class maintenance certificate of maintenance was issued by the monitoring classification society.
