Cargo hatch cover loss in South Atlantic

The 'Nord Venus' lost a cargo hatch cover overboard in the South Atlantic, in position 35 02 18 S, long 005 59 48 E, on Nov 5 at 8.30 p.m. The ship was enroute from Puerto Queguen, where she had sailed on Oct 21, to Port Elizabeth with an ETA as of Nov 9, 4 p.m.

Search for last man suspended

The Coast Guard on Oct 12, 2014,has suspended its search for a man missing near Chuuk Atoll, days after three other people on the same skiff were rescued after an extensive search that covered more than 6,200 square miles. Coast Guard personnel in Guam on Tuesday received a request for assistance in the search for an overdue 19-foot skiff carrying four people. The "Nord Venus" found three of the men on Oct 10 around 23 miles north of Chuuk. The skiff had been missing since Oct 5. The rescued men say their boat started taking on water four hours after departing.
