Tanker boarded and robbed while at anchorage
On 20 July 2011 at 05:30 LT, the chemical tanker Sichem Aneline anchored in position 3 55' 54" N, 98 45' 48" E, 9.5nm NE of Belawan port, Indonesia on bearing 024 was boarded and robbed by pirates. Duty watchman spotted the pirates and alerted the OOW who raised alarm and crew mustered. Pirates stole ships stores before fleeing. Port Authority and Pilot Station notified via VHF Radio but did not respond.
