Cargo ship disabled in Bosphorus
The 'River Elbe', enroute from Novorossyisk to Dover, suffered an engine malfunction while she was transiting the Bosphorus on April 1, 2021, at 10.45 a.m. and started to drift. The teams of the General Directorate of Coastal Safety were dispatched to the ship that had been stoppen by an emergency anchoring manoever only one meter from the mansions at the shore near Yeniköy. The tug 'Kurtarma 8' and the lifeboat 'Kıyı Emniyeti 5' assisted the vessel, a pilot was dropped off on board, and it was towed to the Ahırkapı' anchorage for investigations and repairs. Engine trouble in Bosphorus
The 'River Elbe', while enroute from Yalova to Novorossiysk, suffered a technical failure during the transit of the Bosphorus and moored at Büyükdere anchorage on March 21, 2021, at 2.30 p.m. After the crew carried out repairs, the vessel resumed its voyage witn an ETA as of March 24.
Technical failure in Canakkale Strait
The 'River Elbe', while en route from Varna to Gemlik, suffered a technical failure during its transit through the Istanbul Strait, and moored at the Büyükdere anchorage on July 31, 2020, at 6 a.m. The crew carried out repair works, and the ship anchored off Gemlik in pos. 40° 25.90' N 029° 7.57' E on Aug 2 at 2.35 p.m.
