New Shabab Oman on her way to the Netherlands for further outfitting and completion

Earlier this week Landfall's tug "NEPTUN 10" transited Bosporus Strait with a remarkable and beautifull tow, being the newbuilding sailing/training vessel "SHABAB OMAN. The hull of this nice sailing ship was built by Damen Shipyards in Galati, Romania and Damen Shipyards chartered Landfall's "NEPTUN 10" to bring this precious tow safely tot heir yard in Flushing/Vlissingen, the Netherlands for further outfitting and completion. Based on an average speed of approx. 7.5 – 8.0 knots, these two beauties are expected to arrive in Flushing on 10th/11th January 2014, of course "weather permitting".

Shabab Oman wins International Friendship Cup

International Friendship Cup at the sail ships race for the 10th time in the history of its participation in sailing ships’ races. This came during the ceremony held on Sunday (August 4) in Poland on the occasion of the conclusion of the racing events in the presence of the state officials and members of the organising committee for the race, a crowd of Polish citizens, ships’ crews and visitors of various nationalities. It is the biggest prize, which is pursued by all 90 participating ships in the race, representing 16 countries, awarded to the best ship to strengthen relations of friendship and understanding between the ships’ crews. Shabab Oman also won an award for the ship, which travelled longer to the end of the race. The ship travelled, since sailing from Said bin Sultan Naval Base last April, 9,000 nautical miles and was daily visited by more than 7,000 people during its stay in ports, which comes under its 12th international voyage to Europe this year. Royal Navy of Oman (RNO)’s ship ‘Shabab Oman’ on Baltic Sea Tour arrives in Europe

The Royal Navy of Oman (RNO)’s ship ‘Shabab Oman’ visits European cities on its 12th international trip to the European Continent. The ship in the course of its Baltic Sea Tour 2013 visited the port of Cagliari on the Italian island Sardinia, where it was received by city officials. A reception was organised and attended by Rear Admiral Eduardo Sierra, Commander of Cagliari Navy Area, the Commander of the Coastguard and Senator Berologi Maceda, Head of the port of Cagliari, and government officials. The ship visited the Spanish city of Malaga on May 20 and was greeted upon arrival by the chairman of the port of Malaga and representative of the Spanish Royal Navy, and city officials.
