Five of seven Chinese crewmembers were still missing after the "Shu Hang 998" sank on Nov 10, 2013, during Typhoon Haiyan in the South China Sea. The vessel foundered while anchoring in the port of Sanya after the storm caused the mooring lines to snap at 3.22 p.m. and the storm drifted the vessel away from Sanya in the island province of Hainan. On Nov 11 rescuers found two bodies, the other remained unaccounted for. Ships, speed boats and helicopters were mobilized to join the search, but the rescue efforts were futile while the typhoon raged.
