Scoop damaged roof

Tue Dec 17 11:41:42 CET 2019 Timsen

Both the crew on board the 'Stord' and the driver of an excavator probably overestimated the clearance on the car deck on Dec 17, 2019, in Stavanger. Just after 09.05 a.m., in connection with the loading of the ferry to Tau, the excavator hit the ceiling of the ferry deck with the arm of its raised scoop. Damage, however, remained limited. Ferry disabled by fouled propeller

Tue Sep 03 12:12:50 CEST 2019 Timsen

The "Stord" was disabled by a rope which got into one of the propellers while she was enroute from Tau to Stavanger in the morning of Sep 3, 2019. The ferry had to be towed to shore by the tug "Bryteren" (IMO: 9424417) and safely docked at 10.25 a.m. A spare ferry was to be inserted at 2.30 p.m. Norwegian report with photo: https://www.aftenbladet.no/lokalt/i/kJboyB/Tau-ferje-fikk-propell-problemer_-matte-slepes-til-land

Ferry anchored with engine failure

Fri Dec 02 10:38:52 CET 2016 Timsen

On Dec 1, 20165, the "Stord" suffered engine failure at 3.30 p.m. The ship had sailed as scheduled from Kvitsøy at 2.45 p.m. The crew carried out a controlled shutdown of the engine and dropped anchor between Mekjarvik and Tungenes. The tug "Mega Mammut" was called from Stord and took the ferry in tow. At 5.10 p.m. cars and passengers were taken off at Mekjarvik. The cause of the trouble was not yet clear, so Norled could not yet announcy when the "Stord" would be back in regular scheduled services again. Norled inserted a speedboat which departed from Mekjarvik at 5 p.m. with a return asailing from Kvitsøy clock at 5.35 p.m. The express boat followed the itinerary.
