Lay up ended after two years

After more than two years of lay up in Emden, the former German bunker tanker 'Süllberg' left the port on Dec 23 after having been renamed 'JS Gratitude', flying the flag of Panama, en route to Lome/Togo, with an ETA as of Jan 15, 2022.

The "Suellberg" proceeded to Rostock in the morning of Apr 19, 2010, after having berthed overnight in Kiel, whereas the "Sonoro" remained berthed in Brunsbuettel with damage to its port side bow.

On Apr 18, 2010, at 3.15 a.m. the Gibraltar-flagge cargo m/v "Sonoro", 3244 gt (IMO: 9199397) ran aground in the Kiel Canal at canal km 23 in the Northern embankment sailing westbound. The ship refloated with own power and proceeded to Brunsbuettel. But at 4 a.m. it suffered another mishap near Hochdonn when it collided with the eastbound tank m/v "Süllberg" in dense fog. Both ship suffered damage above the waterline. The "Süllberg" ocntinued its voyage towards the Baltic Sea three hours later, the "Sonoro" remains berthed in Brunsbuettel.
