Damaged ship waiting for port entry

The 'Tanto Ceria' was remaining in its position near Masipon port in Gresik on Nov 28. The vessel was said to be waiting for approval to dock at the port. A short circuit was thought to have caused the fire at the anchorage.

Wheelhouse gutted by fire

The wheelhouse of the 'Tanto Ceria' caught fire at the Lego Anchorage in the waters of the Musi Seberang Ulu II River in Palembang in the Western Surabaya Shipping Lane. The ship was moored at the Gresik pier of the Maspion port on Nov 26, 2019, in pos. 07° 07’.0025’’ S - 112° 39’.786’’ E when the fire broke out at 07.25 a.m. Plumes of flames were blazing from the bridge. The 19 crew members were rescued and there were no casualties. The fire was extinguished at 9.14 a.m. by two Coast Guard patrol ships from the Tanjung Perak Sea and Coast Guard Base, the KNP 'Grantin' and 'KNP 329' as well as the tugs 'Jaya Negara 305', KT 'Jayanegara 203' and KT 'Jayanegara 305'.
