Collision off Prvić

On Jan 31, 2018, at 6.30 p.m. the "Tijat", enroute from Prvić Šepurina to Prvić Luke, was in collision with the cargo m/v "Plavi Jadran", 127 gt (IMO: 6406244) about 200 meters off the island Prvić at St. Frane. The cargo ship which was loaded with sand sank on a water depth of 20-25 meters within a few minutes. The crew of two was rescued, one of them by the crew of the "Tijata", and the other managed to get to the shore. Both were taken care of by Šepurina villagers. There were no injuries on the "Tijat" too, neither among the crew, nor among the dozen passengers traveling from Šepurina to Sibenik. The accident was now being investigated and the "Tijat" banned from sailing for the time being. According to witnesses the "Plavi Jadran" had no navigation lights on.
