Detention in Setubal

Wed Aug 07 22:37:48 CEST 2019 Timsen

The "Titania" has been detained with deficiencies in Setubal by the Portuguese State Control in Portuguese Setubal for 17 days after its arrival on July 12, 2019, with a number of faults and deficiencies including rescue means being not properly maintained as well as lights and sound signals. Bulkheads had operational damages, there was a lack of documentation of abandon ship drills, rescue boats were missing, the emergency generator, bilge pumps, the auxiliary engine, the ventilation and the ISM certificate were not as required. The ship was permitted to leave the port bound for a yard to rectifie the defiencies on July 31, and sailed from Setubal on Aug 2 for Las Palmas where it berthed at the SE Reina Sofia Quay on Aug 6 at 7.40 a.m. As late as January 2019, the ship was detained by the PSC at Las Palmas for four days and thus in danger of being banned by Paris Mou.
