Zamakona delivers number one of ten to Boluda
Spain’s Zamakona Yards has delivered the first of ten new design escort tractor tugs built to exacting and specific requirements, for Boluda Towage and Salvage. As well as the first of series, yard number 768, VB Xaloc is also the first example of Robert Allan Ltd.’s new TRAktor 3200-V class VSP escort tug. VB Xaloc: New TRAktor 3200-VClass VSP Escort Tug from Robert Allan Ltd. for Boluda
The VB XALOC, first of Robert Allan Ltd.’s new TRAktor 3200-V class escort tugs has been delivered by AstillerosZamakona to Owners Boluda Towage and Salvage. This is the first of Boluda’s multi-boat order for the TRAktor 3200-V. The TRAktor 3200-V was designed by Robert Allan Ltd. specifically to meet Boluda’s demanding requirements for performance, propulsion equipment, accommodation facilities, tank capacities and all within a gross tonnage (GRT) limit of less than 500.Extensive computation fluid dynamics (CFD) studies were conducted early on to analyze hull form impacts on the expected bollard pull of the VSP units.
Zamakona Delivers Tug for Boluda
The work of Astilleros Zamakona's collaboration with Robert Allan as a designer and experience of Boluda Towage and Salvage as an operator in tow obtained from this new construction 768 tugboat VB XALOC type AVT will be from now on the tugboat reference for port operations, towing and escort. This tugboat with below 500 GT and length of 31.7m and sleeve 12.8 has a power of 7,600 hp to get a shot fixed point of 79.6 tons. It has accommodation for eight people with a level of "Comf-Noise 3"; also reference in the sector for this type of vessel. This vessel is the first of the series that this Armador has relied on Astilleros Zamakona for.
