Medevac off Ushant

A passenger from the 'Ventura' was medevaced southwest of Ushant off the coast of Finistère by a H 160 helicopter of the French Navy on March 16, 2024, at around 1:30 p.m. for a medical reason and transported to the Brest University Hospital Cavale Blanche at around 2:30 p.m. The reason for the medical evacuation was not revealed. The 'Ventura' was en route from A Coruna to Southampton, where it arrived on March 17 at 6.30 a.m.

Medevac in North Atlantic

On Feb 14 the 'Ventura', en route to King's Wharf, Bermuda, requested the medical evacuation of a female passenger. The ship had left the port of A Coruña on Feb 13 at 5.45 p.m. UTC, bound for Hamilton with an ETA as of Feb 20. The CCS Fisterra of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the SAR helicopter Helimer 402, which hoisted the patient about 100 nautical miles west of Cabo Touriñán and transferred her to Alvedro for further medical care.

Cruise ship rescued yacht crew

On March 18 the 'Ventura', which had sailed from Cozumel the previous day, diverted to a yacht in the Gulf of Mexico after picking up a distress call from the three people on board, one man and two women, who were in difficulty after the sails, rigging and outboard engine on their yacht had failed' in rough seas. The cruise ship approached the boat on its port side, and an elderly male was safely taken aboard. As the yacht was finally secured alongside the Ventura, the sail mast started to strike the side of the ship and began to collapse. With the mast partially collapsed and flailing about, there was a risk of this striking the two female crew members. Finally both safely made it on board." he sailors were taken straight down to the medical centre for assessment. The captain later announced that all three were safe and well.
