Freighter caused oil spill

Sat Dec 31 18:21:27 CET 2011 Timsen

20 liters of diesel fuel has leaked from athe "Sormovskiy 3048" into the outer port of Glückstadt on Dec 27, 2011. The Russian captain denied a connection between the hull and black oil film floating between quay and his ship. Several water-and oil samples were thus taken. The ship had come from the English Channel to Glückstadt with 10 km/h after an an engine failure. After the spill a special pumping van from Brunsbüttel was requested. The captain planned to leave the port in spite of a broken crankshaft to get to Russia with half speed for repairs. By Dec 31 the ship was still in port.
