Allision in Cleveland

On Aug 27, 2020, the 'Algoma Buffalo', while manoevering upon its arrival from Thessalon in Cleveland, Ohio, with the assistance of two tugs, aollided with a floating dock, a road bridge, and two moored open boats. The ship left the port again on Aug 29 at 1 a.m., next headed to Port Colborne, where it arrived at 1.30 p.m. the same day.

Bulkcarrier disabled in Michigan

The 'Algoma Buffalo' coming fromSandusky, was disabled 4.75 miles east of White Rock, Michigan, due to a hydraulic leak on its CP propeller system, in position 43 41 04.2 N, 082 30 25.2 W, on Dec 31, 2019, at 11 p.m. The vessel subsequently anchored and the crew carried out repairs. The 'Algoma Buffalo' resumed its voyage after obtaining clearance from the US Coast Guard was received and berthed in Alpena, Michigan, on Jan 1, 20202, at 4.30 p.m.

Engine failure on Welland Canal

The "Algoma Buffalo" suffered a main engine failure when approaching Lock No. 8 of the Welland Canal, Ontario, in position 42 53 35.2 N, 79 14 50.5 W, on Dec 11, 2018, at 7.05 a.m. The vessel was secured alongside and the crew carried out repairs. There were no injuries, no pollution, or damage to the dock. Though repairs were completed as of Dec 11, the ship remained stopped in position lat 43 6 46N, long 79 11 29W, near Thorold, on Dec 18.
