Tanker suffered pump damage

The 'Gran Couva', while enroute from Point Lisas to Ghent, suffered a fuel pump defect in the main engine in position 49 35 31.0 N, 004 49 28.0 W, on Jan 27 at 08.30 a.m. The crew started repairs, and the ship resumed the voyage to Ghent after the defect was rectified at 2.55 p.m. with an ETA as of Jan 28.

Tanker suffered piston problem

The "Gran Couva", en route from Point Lisas, Trinidad Tobago to Ghent with a crew of 21 on board, suffered a problem with No. 5 piston ring in the main egine, approximately 25 nautical miles southeast of Isles of Scilly in position 49 34 42.0 N, 005 52 07.8 W, on Dec 17, 2018, at 10.25 a.m. The crew carried out repairs. The vessel had a cargo of 42004 tonnes of urea ammonia on board. On scene were SW winds of 20 knots and a swell of 2,5 meters with a gale warning at 09.50 a.m. with wind force 9.
