Disabled trawler towed to Tynemough

The 'Ebonnie' with six crew members on board suffered an engine failure in position 54 52 38 N, 000 38 15 E in the evening of Nov 27, 2021. The vessel went adrift under severe weather conditions. The MRCC Humber requested the launch of the Tynemouth lifeboat to assist. The 'Osier' was launched at 8.45 p.m. and headed to the position approximately 70 miles from the Tyne with six crew members, battling through very heavy seas of up to six metre high waves. It took 4,5 hours to reach the casualty. The lifeboat was able to establish a towing connection at 1.15 a.m. The crew then hunkered in for the remaining 14 hour slow trip back. Ot arrived back into the Tyne at 3.07 p.m. and brought the trawler to the West Quay in Tynemouth on Nov 28 at 4.20 a.m. One crew member who had suffered a knee injury was medevaced and taken to hospital.

Disabled trawler towed to Harwich

The 'Ebonnie', which had left the port of Felixstowe on March 22 at 1.40 a.m. with five crew members on board suffered an engine breakdown in position 51 49 55.0 N, 002 00 09.0 E on March 21, 2020. The RNLI boat from Harwich was tasked to locate the vessel at 5 p.m. AT 5.55 p.m. it was taken in tow and was safely berthed at the Navyard Wharf in Harwich on March 22 at 1.45 a.m.

Fishermen caught illegally fishing off Heligoland

On Jan 24, 2017, the water police Brunsbüttel had a case of illegal fishing off the German coast. At around 8:15 a.m., the police stopped the "Ebonnie" between Heligoland and the German mainland which was fishing wells without valid approval. The fishermen were asked to cease fishing and recover the 900 traps which were still put out. The Federal Agency for Agriculture and Forestry ordered the payment of a safety fine of 5,000 Euros which was paid by the fisherman by bank guarantee.
