Norwegian offshore service provider Subsea 7 has secured two separate contracts from Jan de Nul and One Subsea. The Jan de Nul contract is for the transportation, pre-piling and installation of 47 jacket foundations for wind turbines in the Formosa 2 Offshore Wind Farm project in Taiwan. The company’s subsidiary Seaway 7 will execute the work in 2020 and 2021 using the heavy lift vessels Seaway Yudin and Seaway Strashnov.

Seaway Heavy Lifting completes installation of Galloper offshore wind farm

Seaway Heavy Lifting, wholly-owned subsidiary of Subsea 7, has completed installation of the Galloper offshore wind farm substation and associated jacket foundation. The company’s heavy- lift vessel ‘ Oleg Strashnov’ executed the job last Friday, May 12. Heerema Fabrication Group has manufactured the both components for the 336MW offshore wind farm being constructed approximately 30 kilometers off the coast of Suffolk. Construction of the Galloper OWF is being led on behalf of the project partners by innogy SE. The project is said to have an investment potential of around £1.5 billion. The foundations setup for the offshore wind farm was delivered in late March by GeoSea using its ‘Innovation’ jack-up installation vessel. Subsea power cable installation specialist VBMS is carrying out the cabling works utilising its two vessels the Ndurance and the Stemat Spirit. (Source: Subsea World News)

Record lift for Seaway Heavy Lifting with the installation of a PU topside of 4700Mt

On Sunday 2nd August at 09.30 am our crane vessel OLEG STRASHNOV successfully installed the Process Unit (PU) topside for operator GDF SUEZ E&P UK Ltd (part of the ENGIE Group), and partners Centrica Energy and Bayerngas. The OLEG STRASHNOV set a new lift record for Seaway Heavy Lifting with the safe installation of the PU topside with a hook load of 4700Mt.The PU topside is part of the Cygnus field which consists of four platforms: Alpha Wellhead platform, Process Unit platform, Quarters Unit platform and the Bravo Wellhead platform. The Cygnus Field islocated in the southern part of the North Sea. Last year our crane vessel STANISLAV YUDIN installed the Alpha Wellhead platform, Process Unit jacket, Quarters Unit jacket and subsea structures. This year the campaign continues with the installation of the Bravo Wellhead platform, Process Unit topside and compression module, Quarters Unit topside, and connecting bridges.
