Removal of Sea Worker completed

Mon Oct 30 08:54:20 CET 2017 Timsen

After the "ASV Pioneer" has successfully completed the salvage and wreck recovery operation of the "Sea Worker" off the coast of Bjerregaard, the barge has been moored in Wilhelmshaven since Sep 30. The accommodation barge with 8 point mooring will shortly be available for deployment on its next contract having successfully completed its second salvage contract. The vessel was berthed in Wilhelmshaven for demobilisation and scheduled maintenance work required following the project.

Wreck removal in full swing

Wed Apr 19 22:08:43 CEST 2017 Timsen

The wreck removal of the “Sea Worker” off Nymindegab is in full swing with only few wreckage still protruding above the surface of the water but a lot remaining beneath. The work is being done by the Durch company DISA. By April 19, 2017, the British tugs "Whalsa Lass“ (IMO-No.: 9633812), and "Voe Earl“ (IMO-No.: 9639983) as well as the barge "ASV Pioneer“ (MMSI-No.: 563017250) were working on site. The latter was already used during the salvage of the "Costa Concordia“ off Giglio. Sea Worker loss may cost DONG hundredds of millions Crowns

Wed Feb 01 09:03:01 CET 2017 Timsen

The loss of the "Sea Worker" may be costing DONG hundreds of millions Danish crowns. The energy company failed to agree with the insurance company over who should bear the cost, not only to replace the lost platform, but also the expected high costs of removing the wreck off Bjerregaard. The amount is so large that DONG has chosen to include a note about risk in the prospectus the company drew up in the summer 2016. It is expected that the wreck will be removed over the year.
