Underwater object damaged propellers

Fri Mar 08 18:32:48 CET 2024 Timsen

Traffic on the Solent will face a month of disruption after an underwater object has damaged the propellers of the 'St. Faith', forcing the company to operate a revised timetable for up to four weeks, starting March 11, 2024, on the Fishbourne-Portsmouth route. Repairs will be carried out as quickly as possible. Wightlink was contacting all customers affected by these changes, and their booking was to be moved to alternative sailings as close as possible to the original scheduled departures. Customers can then amend the time and date online if they wish or, if they prefer, may cancel their booking for a full refund.

Passengers unable to disembark due to linkspan failure

Wed Oct 20 10:46:30 CEST 2021 Timsen

Passengers aboard the 'St. Faith' on Oct 19, 2021, were unable to disembark in Portsmouth following a mechanical failure of the port’s linkspan. The news of delays has been given to passengers aboard other Wightlink ferries operating on the route, with those at sea unable to dock at Portsmouth due to the 'St. Faith' being stuck in position. Engineers have been sent to fetch a spare part for the equipment. At 4.10 p.m. Wightlink advised passengers of delays of up to 60 minutes as engineers were working to rectify the fault. The ferry 'St Clare' was holding off from the Portsmouth terminal.
