Mast of clipper broke
On July 25, 2017, at 11.51 a.m. a mast of the "Alberdina" broke a few miles south of Stavoren north of the birdd island Kreupel in the IJsselmeer. A piece of about four meters broke down and kept hanging in the rig, so the big sail could not be operated any more, and the ship was disabled. There were 12 passengers and two crew members on board, fortunately no one was injured. The KNRM stations of Enkhuizen, Andijk and Medemblijk were alerted and crew members dropped off on board. The "Watersport" from Enkhuizen towed the ship to the port of Enkhuizen, the other two boats assisted in mooring the "Alberdina". The mast appeared to have been approved in February with a crane and two experts in a bowl.
