Ailing Moroccan medevaced from ferry
A Moroccan national suffered a cardiac arrest on the 'GNV Atlas' on July 13, while the ship was en route from Barcelona to the port of Beni Ansar on July 13, 2025, and needed to be medevaced. The crew sent a distress call to the Moroccan authorities. A joint coordination between the Royal Navy and the Ministry of Health enabled the emergency dispatch of a Moroccan medical helicopter from one of the nearby air bases. It landed on the ship's deck. The medical team accompanying the helicopter provided first aid to the sick man. The patient was then transferred on board the aircraft and taken to one of the hospitals in Nador, where he was received by a medical team for the necessary examinations and treatment. The ferry continued on its way with an ETA as of July 16. Report with photo: https://www.bladi.net/maroc-mre-evacue-helicoptere-malaise-mer,115775.html
