Ferry suffered steering damage
On Sep 24, 2019, at 3 p.m. the "Adler 1" suffered a damage to its steering system. The tug "Holtenau" took the ship in tow to a pier in Holtenau. The ferry had to be taken out of its service between Kiel-Wik and Kiel-Holtenau on the Kiel Canal for repairs. While theser were being carried out, a bus shuttle was inserted as a replacement.
Kiel Canal ferry sent to Rendsburg for repairs
On Jan 27, 2016, water intrusion at the propulsion shaft of the "Adler I2 was remarked. Due to a lack of dock space in Kiel the ferry was sent to the Saatsee Yard in Rendsburg for repairs and lifted onto the quay there. The return to Kiel was expected on Jan 29. Adler 1 ran aground
On Mar 12, 2012, the "Adler 1“ ran into the embankment of the Kiel-Canal at Holtenau after a failed attempt to berth coming from Wik. The ship twice had tried to berth, during the third attempt the ferry missed the pier and got stuck. The captain refloated the ship with own power. The police launched an investigation and drug tested the master with negative result. The ferry may only resume its service after a hull survey by divers on Mar 13 on the earliest.
