Ferry had anchor issues and dragged anchor

Tue Dec 28 17:15:11 CET 2021 Timsen

The 'Atlantic Sun', en route from Antwerp, to Liverpool with 23 crew members on board suffered issues with an anchor winch and also was dragging anchor 6,7 nautical miles from Amlwch Port in position 53 29 13.2 N, 004 12 25.2 W, on Dec 25, 2021, at 2.35 p.m. The vessel was anchored, but drifting at 1-2 knots speed in southeastern direction. The vessel sought advice from the manufacturer, but the instructions received did not appear to have solved the problem. A pilotwas was requested for Dec 26 at 11 a.m. At 3.50 a.m. on Dec 27 the ship entered the Royal Seaforth Dock in Liverpool.
