15 migrants rescued after being located by container ship
On Dec 11, the 'Salvamar Algenib' has rescued 15 migrantss of Maghreb origin from a rubber boat, which had been located by the container m/v 'Barbara P' (IMO: 9144720), en route from Arrecife to Sagunto, 22 nautical miles east of Carboneras. The castaways have been transferred to the port of Almería.
18 migrants rescued off Mesa Roldán
On June 3 at 9.35 a.m. the 'Salvamar Algenib' rescued 17 men and one minor, all of whom of North African origin, from a disabled boat which was located by a sailboat 20 nautical miles southeasst of Mesa Roldán. They were transferred to Almería. The emergency response was coordinated by the MRCC of Salvamento Marítimo in Almería. Boat towed to Garrucha
On May 25 the pleasure boat 'Queequeg' requested assistance 10 nautucal miles northwest of the port of Garrucha in a dangerous situation. The CCS Almería of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the 'Salvamar Algenib', which towed it safely to the port of Garrucha.
