Container ship located grounded sport fisher
The ''MSC Antonia' assisted in the rescue of five people after the sportfisher 'Strike Finder' had run onto the southern Charleston jetty on March 22, 2020, at 2.10 a.m. The Coast Guard Sector Charleston received a report from Sea Tow that the 52-foot sport fisher had run aground on the jetty with. A Station Charleston RB-M boat crew, an Air Facility Charleston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew and various partner agency assets launched to assist. The Coast Guard Charleston watchstanders contacted the 'MSC Antonia', which was making its inbound transit, and the pilot aboard reported he could see a sport fisher on the southern jetty. Watchstanders were able to get in touch with one of the persons aboard the sport fisher via cell phone and who reported they were stuck on the southern jetty, taking on water and wearing life jackets. The North Charleston Fire Department arrived on scene and safely removed all five people from the vessel and transferred them to a Coast Guard Station Charleston 45-foot Response Boat-Medium which transported them to Ripley Light Marina. The cause of the incident is under investigation by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. MSC chooses Panasia scrubbers for 29 ships
MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company(MSC) will retrofit 29 of its ships with scrubbers developed by Panasia, a South Korean marine equipment manufacturer. Retrofitting works are likely to be carried out in a yard under the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) group.
