Recent News Hebei ports volume up 8.8 percent to 252 million tonnes in first four months 2012
Ports in northern China's Hebei province had handled 252 million tonnes of cargo this year as of the end of April, up 8.8 per cent year on year, taking up 33.5 per cent of its annual target, Xinhua reports. Foreign trade cargo throughput climbed 30.8 per cent to 69.81 million tonnes. Qinhuangdao port's throughput dropped 2.3 per cent to 92.02 million tonnes. Tangshan port's throughput increased 17.9 per cent to 118 million tonnes. Tangshan's Jingtang port area handled 52.68 million tonnes, while Caofeidian port area handled 65.02 million tonnes. Huanghua port's throughput grew 12.5 per cent to 41.91 million tonnes. In this period, Hebei province waterway cargo traffic increased 7.2 per cent to 8.56 million tonnes.
