Cruise ship crew rescued passenger who fell over board

On Nov 7, 2023, at 1.30 a.m. a man fell overboard the "Aida Prima" on the North Sea. The passenger was rescued alive by the crew of the ship, which immediately had stopped and launched an SAR operation, which was supported by a helicopter of the Norwegian Coastguard and other ships. All passenger and crew were mustered on deck. The man was spotted in the water after around half an hour and was completely exhausted, when he was pulled into a lifeboat. He was now being treated and given medical care in the ship's hospital. The “Aida Prima” continued its journey from Stavanger to Hamburg and is scheduled to reach the port on Nov 7 t 11.30 p.m. UTC.

Medevc off Hoek van Holland

On Feb 10, 2023, the KNRM station of Hoek van Holland received a request for a medical evacuation at the Nieuwe Waterway, when the 'Aidaprima' was en route to the Northsea. A passenger started to feel chest pain. The lifeboat 'Jeanine Parqui' and an ambulance were sent to the Berghaven. At the height of the Hoekse Pier, the patient was transferred to the lifeboat, after which he was transported to the waotomg ambulance. There the patient was further treated and taken to the Haga hospital. At 9 a.m. the lifeboat was moored again.

Attempt to reach Hamburg ahead of storm failed

Off Heligoland the "Aidaprima" was battling with the hurricane force winds of the storm Ylenia on Feb 17, 2022, sailing in circles on the North Sea. Since the ship was caught up in the storm on its way from Le Havre to Hamburg, it was no longer able to enter the Elbe in the evening of Feb 16. It had previously canceled the visit to Southampton and attempted to reach the protective estuary of the Elbe at full speed of 20 knots and sail into Hamburg. The storm was faster - in the afternoon the "Aidaprima" turned around at the Elbe 1 pilot station and slowly proceeded to an area north of Helgoland. The container ships “Ever Gentle”, “YM Wellness” and “CSCL Saturn” were also waiting out the storm there.
