Engine damage off Lizard Point

The "Emerald Leader", en route from Bremerhaven to Bristol suffered a defective hose in its engine in position 49 48 16.2 N, 004 40 58.2 W, 20 miles from Lizard Point on May 7, 2019. Repairs were completed by the crew at 06.30 a.m., and the vessel resumed its voyage and berthed at the Royal Portbury Dock at 11.25 p.m.

Fire in transformer

On Nov 29, 2016, at 11.15 p.m. a fire broke out aboard the "Emerald Leader" which was docked in the Kaiser Port in Bremerhaven. The fire rescue attended with 34 men. They found that a transformer was burning in an electrical operating room. There was dense smoke in the lower decks. Four firefighters explored the smoky areas with respiratory protection and extinguishing equipment. After they had reached the fire, it was quickly extinguished. The firefighters then ventilated the rooms and ended the operation on Nov 30 at 1.20 a.m. There was no damage assessement yet. The ship had arrived from Vigo on Nov 25.
