Crew member recovered minutes after falling over board

On Feb 15, 2021, a crew member of the 'Anna Mamm Mari' from Keroman, in Lorient, a 23-year-old sailor of Spanish nationality, wnt over board. At 5.30 p.m. zhe gillnetter was fishing for sole 60 km off the coast of Sables-d'Olonne. When the nets were put in the water from the stern of the vessel, the sailor was caught and fell into the freezing water. In a second maneuver, the crew spotted the sailor and the ship approached. The castaway was hoisted aboard by the net hauler within a few minutes. The sailor was in cardio-respiratory arrest. Two of his colleagues provided him with emergency first aid and managed to revive their young colleague. During this time, the emergency services were alerted, via the CRISS Étel. The French Navy sent a Dolphin helicopter, based in La Rochelle, which arrived with a medical team. The victim was unconscious but alive. He was hoisted and transported to the La Rochelle hospital.

Medevac off Belle-Ile

On July 22, 2016 at 12:49 a.m. the CROSS Etel was contacted by the "Mamm Anna Mari" after a crew member suffered injuries at the hand. The gillneter was 15 nautical miles off the south of Belle-Ile. Following a conference call with the Maritime Medical Consultation Centre (MMCC) in Toulouse, the Maritime Medical Coordination (SCMM) in Finistère and the ship, the decision was made to evacuate the sailor by helicopter to the hospital Scorff (Lorient). The CROSS dispachted a Dragon 56 helicopter of the Civil Security which took off at 1.40 p. At 1:57 p.m. the Patient was hoisted and delivered at the hospital at 2:22 p.m.

Medevac off Hourtin

Mon Feb 20 09:51:07 CET 2012 Timsen

On Feb 19, 2012, the Cross-Etel was alerted due to a sick crew member aboard the "Anna Mamm Marie" at d'Hourtin. Following a consultation of the Maritime Medical Center in Toulouse, it wa decided to medevac the man. A Dolphin helicopter of the Navy was sent and winched up the man who was taken to the hospital in La Rochelle.
