Tug capsized on Hudson
The "Helen Parker" capsized in the Hudson River on Oct 13, 2011, in the afternoon. Three people were rescued from the water. Tjhe tug went down off West 50th Street around 4:30 p.m. and began drifting downriver. The vessel was partially submerged shortly before 5 p.m. and was being dragged south along the Hudson River by the current. The vessel dipped into the water on an incline, he said, and was turned over, revealing part of its bottom.
