Ship permitted to dock in Haydarpasa
After the grounding of the 'JOSCO Taicang' in the northern port entrance of the breakwater of Haydarpasa/Istanbul on April 4, a berthing permission has been granted, and the ship docked at Haydarpasa under supervision on April 19. Divers had carried out underwater inspections in the presence of the surveyor panel and the class surveyor. The salvage expenses fee was paid by the agent to the coastal safety account on behalf of the owners. The ship remained stationary at the Haydarpasa Container Terminal as of April 21.
Grounding in Bosphorus
The 'Josco Taicang', en route from Suez, ran aground during the berthing manoever in Haydarpaşa Port off Istanbul on April 4, 2022, in pos. 41° 00.78' N 029° 00.28' E. Ships navigating in the region were asked to navigate carefully. As of now, there was no obstacle to the Bosphorus traffic. The tugs '*Kurtarma 1', 'Kurtarma 6', 'Kurtarma 7' and 'Mehmetcik' as well as the lifeboat 'Kıyı Emniyeti 3' and the patrol boat 'TCSG 12' were deployed to the scene. After the underwater inspection, the ship was safely anchored in Ahırkapı. As of April 6, it remained stationary in pos. 40° 59.00' N 028° 57.72' E.
