Master medevaced after heart attack
The 'Lady Berna' requested medical assistance at the Taranto anchorage, after the 40 year old Turkish Master suffered a heart attack. A patrol boat took the victim to the port, where he received first medical treatment. His condition was found not to be life-threatening, but he needed time to recover under proper observation. The Chief Officer meanwhile was in charge of the ship. As of Nov 24, the ship remained stationary in pos. 40° 27.29' N 017° 10.58' E off the port, where it has been moored since Nov 6.
Engine failure off Kokkinogia
The 'Ns Eve', en route from Novorossiysk to Sibenik, suffered an engine failure in position 36 19 33.6 N, 022 31 04.2 E, south of Kokkinogia on Dec 20, 2021, around midnight. After repairs were completed by the crew, the vessel resumed its voyage with an ETA as of Dec 23.
Engine trouble on North Atlantic
The 'Laida', while en route from Newhaven to Jorf, Morocco, suffered engine trouble in position 50 11 12.0 N, 001 52 06.0 W, on Jan 7, 2021. The defect was rectified in less than ten minutes, and the vessel continued its voyage. It was carrying 3.664 tonnes of scrap iron.
