Engine room leak fixed
The 'Theodor Essberger', en route from Antwerp to Grangemouth with a cargo of 1.200 tonnes of oil, suffered a small leak in the engine room in position 54 29 56.0 N, 000 22 34.0 W on Jan 18., 2022, at around 07.30 a.m. Repairs were carried out by the crew, and the ship was underway again at 07.45 a.m. It berthed at theIneos Refinery in Grangemouth at 9.30 p.m.
EC approves merger of Nordic Tankers and Borealis Maritime
The European Commission (EC) has greenlit the formation of Crystal Nordic, a 50:50 joint venture (JV) between Nordic Tankers and Borealis Maritime, which is backed by US-based investment firm KKR & Co.
