Repairs in Trabzon completed

The 'Oruba', which had suffered an engine failure and subsequent loss of power off Trabzon on April 17 and was towed to Trabzon on April 21, got a new set of spare parts provided by the owners from a manufacturer. Permanent repairs have been completed in port, and the vessel was shifted from the pier to the anchorage area and conducted sea trials under the supervision of a class surveyor together with the owner's superintendent. Subsequently, a new set of trading certificate was issued by the monitoring classification society and the flag state authority. The 'Oruba' was granted departure permission and sailed from Trabzon on June 1. On June 2 it arrived off Poti.

Engine failure off Trabzon

The 'Oruba', en route from Ravenna to Batumi, suffered an engine failure and a loss of power in position 42 09 30 N, 039 53 00 Eoff Trabzon on April 17, 2022. As repairs could not be carried out by the crew, the tug 'Sea Lord' (IMO: 8325119) started took the ship in tow in the evening of April 19. It moored on Trabzon anchorage on April 20 at 7 a.m. where a damage survey commenced. On April 21 at 9.40 a.m. the ship berthed in the port.

The Hellenic Coast Guard was alerted in the morning of Jan 29, 2019, by the "Oruba" because a 30-year-old crew member needed immediate hospital care. The vessel was anchored in the area of ​​the port of Kalamata, and after the 3patient was transferred to the port, he was transported by ambulance to the General Hospital of Messinia. The "Oruba" continued the journey from Huelva to Istanbul, ETA Feb 1.
