First post-corona cruise aborted after corona case

The 'Paul Gauguin' had to abort its first voyage after the corona crisis which had started on July 29, 2020, and had to turn around after passenger was tested positive for COVID-19 on board by the ship's doctor. The ship returned to Papeete on Aug 2 for further measures. At the time of the discovery, the ship was sailing between Bora Bora and Rangiroa. There were 48 passengers and 192 crew members on board. The 'Paul Gauguin' had made a stopover in Bora-Bora before the incident. All passengers were advised to remain in their cabins. All of them were to be tested now. Most of them are Polynesian residents.

Propulsion trouble in Bora Bora

The "Paul Gaugin" suffered propulsion failure while being docked at Bora Bora. The ship was stuck for several days, until an engineer from France had arrived and fixed the problem. The vessel sailed from Bora Bora on Aug 16, 2016, resuming the cruise, which was scheduled to end on Aug 20.
