Medevac in Kattegat

On Sep 8, 2023, a person fell ill aboard the 'Stena Nautica', en route from Grenaa to Halmstad. The Danish Defence tasked an SAR helicopter from Roskilde tom medevac the patient. At 4 p.m. LT he was safely hoisted and transported to shore for medical treatment. The ferry arrived in the port of destination at 6.40 p.m.

Wind farm installation vessel smashed into ferry

In the morning of Nov 22, 2015, the A2SEA wind farm installation vessel "Sea Worker" broke lose from its mooring in the port of Grenaa in gale force winds with gusts of 25-30 meters per second and wave heights of two to three meters. The vessel went adrift and crashed into the "Stena Nautica" which was berthed at the ferry terminal. The captain ordered some pumps in the case of a leak as a safety routine. The tug "Svitzer Thor" had to be called from Frederikshavn to pull the two vessels pulled apart which succeeded only at 6:45 p.m. There was no major damage to the "Stena Nautica". No one was injured in the allision. Ferry returns to service

After the repairs of the allision damage in Grenå, which had been carried out at the Odense Steel Yard since July 10, had been completed, the "Stena Nautica"left the port of Vigerö on July 30 at 9 a.m. and headed for Varberg where she was being expected at noon. The first sailing from Varberg to Grenå was due to start on July 31 at 8:05 a.m. The accident had been caused by a fault in the automatic navigation system.
