Repairs of allision damage completed
The "Thames Highway" left the MWB Bremerhaven Shipyard after repairs on Dec 14 and shifted to the Kaiser Port. After cargo operations she left the port on Dec 15 at 5.20 a.m. being bound for Malmö as next port of call, ETA Dec 17.
Allision in Bremerhaven
In the afternoon of Dec 8, 2015, the "Thames Highway" allided with a quay in Bremerhaven while being puled from the Kaiser Port III to the car quay. It had arrived fromUusikaupunki in the morning at 5 a.m. and was now being towed stern first out of the port. It slammed into the quay during a turning manoever after engine problems occurred which prevented that the ship was stopped in time despite tug assistance. The hull was breached on 2 x 2 meters above the water line. On Dec 9 the ship was docked at the MWB Bremerhaven Shipyard for repairs. The quay was severely damaged on 3 x 4 x 2,5 meters.
