Grounding off Lauwersoog

Thu Jul 23 22:26:03 CEST 2015 Timsen

On July 22, 2015, the "Dorus - ZK 67" got stuck on a sand bar in the Westgat off Lauwersoog. The local KNRM boat attached a wire and attempted to pull the ship off in spite of extremely strong Tide currents, but there was no movement to get into the ship. Eventually the "Noorman" of the BMS alsoassisted, but these attempts were to no avail, and the lifeboat went back to Lauwersoog as ship and crew were safe so far. Thu Jun 17 09:33:07 CEST 2010 Timsen

On June 16, 2010, the "Dorus ZK 67", 34 gt, from Zoutkamp (MMSI-No.: 245991000; CS PCHO) required assistance by the rescue boat "Koning Willem I" of the KNRM-station Schiermonnikoog. The ship had suffered machine trouble. The 18-m-shrimper was lying north of the Westgat between Ameland and Schiermonnikoog with a crew of two. The "Koning Willem" took the ship in tow towards Lauwersoog, assisted by the "Anna Jacoba Visser" from Lauwersoog. The "Dorus" was safely moored and the "Koning Willem I" back at its station at 8 p.m.
