Medevac in English Channel

Lifeboat and Coastguard teams assisted, after a man aboard the 'Mein Schiff 3' had taken ill off the Kent coast on Dec 3, 2023. Coastguard and RNLI crews were called at about 1.30 a.m. to the ship which was transiting the English Channel off Dover. A man was suffering from a medical condition and was airlifted and taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford. The Dover lifeboat was called out shortly after 2 a.m. to provide support. By the time the disembarkation was required it was not possible for a boat to come alongside due to the weather conditions. The 'Mein Schiff 3' was en route from Las Palmas to Bremerhaven at the time of the emergency, where it arrived in the early morning of Dec 4.

Medevac on first day of 35-day-cruise

On Nov 5, 2023, a passenger had to be medevaced from the 'Mein Schiff 3' on the first 35-day long-term voyage of this year, which left Santa Cruz de Tenerife at 2 p.m. to cross the Atlantic towards the Caribbean. At around 8 p.m. LT, the 'Mein Schiff 3' turned south of La Gomera due to the medical emergency. To disembark the patient, the ship headed to San Sebastian on La Gomera. After a short wait in front of the harbour entrance, the 'Mein Schiff 3' docked in the port at around 9:30 p.m. The passenger was handed over to medical teams ashore. The 'Mein Schiff 3' continued its voyage towards the Caribbean at around 10:30 p.m.

Medevac off Hoek van Holland

On April 21 at 10:37 p.m. the KNRM together with a helicopter of the Dutch Coast Guard for a medical evacuation from the 'Mein Schiff 3', en route from Rotterdam to the port of Zeebrugge. The cruis ship circled to stay as close to the port of Hoek van Holland as possible, while the lifeboat 'Jeanine Parqui' and the helicopter of the Coast Guard were on their way. Upon its arrival, the lifeboai transferred two crew members to provide assistance to the patient. The helicopter also dropped off two men, after which the evacuation was jointly prepared. The patient was transferred by helicopter to the Erasmus MC hospital in Rotterdam. The lifeboat 'Jeanine Parqui' took on board the victim's luggage, which was collected a day later.
