The Kshs 598 million cocaine case against Briton Jack Marian has been thrown out. According to the Star, a report dated December 12, says the case has been withdrawn under Section 87 (a) of the Criminal Procedure Code. The same was copied to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and a date for special mention set for December 21 at Kibera law court number 1. “Reason behind withdrawal is that we are still waiting for further intelligence reports from Brazil and Valencia,” reads part of the said report. The accused was apprehended following the recovery of cocaine stashed in container MEDU 3333950 on the vessel named MSC Posetano. The ship which ferried the cocaine from Brazil, was hurriedly sneaked out of the Mombasa port after the owners feared it would be blown up by authorities. http://zipo.co.ke/14787/briton-accused-smuggling-ksh598m-cocaine-set-free/
