Crews not detained
Iran’s state maritime body said on May 28 that the crews of the 'Henry' and 'Prudent Warrior' which have been seized by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps on May 27 had not been detained, and were in good health and and provided with necessary services while on board, in accordance with international law. The tankers were seized in the Persian Gulf shortly after Tehran warned it would take “punitive action” against Athens over the confiscation of Iranian oil by the United States from the tanker 'Pegas' which was held off the Greek coast. The two vessels were stopped over maritime violations. They have been ordered to sail to Bandar Abbas on May 29.
Tanker arrested for illegal anchoring
The 'Henry' with 24 crew members on board, was detained by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency after it was suspected of anchoring illegally in position 01 44 36 N, 104 35 47 E, approximately 22,6 nautical miles northeast of Tanjung Kelesa on May 26, 2022. The captain and one crew member were taken to Tanjung Sedili Maritime Zone office for further investigation.
