Medevac at Bermuda

Wed Feb 08 12:04:07 CET 2017 Timsen

The "Tower Bridge" diverted to Bermuda to disembark a Russian crew member suffering from a suspected hernia. On Feb 4, 2017, at 11:19 a.m., the RCC Bermuda received a call from the captain of the tanker, advising that the vessel was diverting to Bermuda to land a crew member, suffering from a suspected Hernia. The ship had initially departed Port Arthur with a crew of 25 on board, bound for FOS, France. Logistics were put in place including appointment of local shipping agent; arrangement of ambulance and attendance on scene by the pilot boat "St. George". Around 5 p.m. the transfer was successfully completed with patient taken ashore by the pilot boat and subsequently by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
