Container ship disabled off Orford Ness
The "Atlantic Cimet", en route from Rotterdam to Felixstowe, suffered engine problems due to a defective air compressors 32 miles east of Orford Ness on Aug 24, 2019. Tugs were tasked by the owners which took the ship in tow in position 52 00 48 N, 002 11 35 E, at 2.10 p.m. The ship arrived in Felixstowe on Aug 25 at 3 p.m. and docked at the Trinit Terminal.
Water intake through cooling system
The "Atlantic Comet", en route to Avonmouth with a crew of eight on board, suffered an auxiliary generators defect, which led to water intake through the cooling system in position 51 21 29 N, 003 15 39 W, about 2.5 miles south of the Barry docks, South Wales, on May 23, 2019. A pilot boat assisted the vessel which was able to complete its repair works and berthed at Avonmouth at 2.10 p.m.
